# Appcast alternative (2026): Appcast vs RecruitmentAds

This page is about Appcast at appcast.io: the programmatic job-advertising platform behind Xcelerate and AppcastOne, founded in Lebanon, New Hampshire in 2014 and majority-owned by StepStone Group since July 2019. Searches for "app cast" normalise to the same brand.

Appcast is where a recruitment media budget goes. It takes your jobs in through an ATS feed and distributes and rebalances spend across what it calls the world's largest job ad exchange, plus search, display and email, on cost-per-click and pay-per-applicant terms, with impression-to-hire reporting behind it. RecruitmentAds is where the creative comes from: paste one live vacancy URL and it returns a finished on-brand ad-set for that role, video in every standard format plus matching statics for Meta and LinkedIn, with the visual source your choice per template (AI-generated scenes from the job description, real employee photos in on-brand layouts, or approved assets only). So be clear about which purchase you are making before you read another comparison. If you are looking for an alternative to Appcast because you want your jobs distributed and your spend optimised, RecruitmentAds is not that tool and this page will tell you which vendors are. If you are looking because your ads are being distributed perfectly well and the creative in them is the problem, that is exactly the gap this fills, and you can price it and see it built on one of your own vacancies before you talk to anyone.

What each tool is

## Appcast

Appcast is the US programmatic job-advertising incumbent, founded in 2014 by Chris Forman in Lebanon, New Hampshire, majority-acquired (85%) by StepStone Group in July 2019 at a valuation reported around $79M, and run since 1 January 2025 by CEO Matt Molinari, an early Indeed employee. Its own site claims 450+ staff globally and what it calls the world's largest job ad exchange. Jobs enter through ATS auto job import; Xcelerate and AppcastOne then distribute them across thousands of job boards including Indeed, ZipRecruiter and LinkedIn, plus programmatic search ads on Google and Bing launched in April 2025, display Brand Ads and Xtend email and SMS re-engagement, with auto-stop rules, source reporting and impression-to-hire tracking. Pricing is performance media: cost-per-click and the pay-per-applicant model it markets as its signature. In July 2023 it acquired Bayard Advertising, a New York agency founded in 1923, taking the combined customer count past 2,000 and adding Appcast Brand & Creative, which sells EVP strategy, career sites and campaign creative as managed services. Named customers include Starbucks, Lyft, Avis Budget, Dick's Sporting Goods, Encompass Health, Conagra, E\&J Gallo Winery, Piedmont Healthcare and Loews Hotels. Its annual Recruitment Marketing Benchmark Report, now in its tenth edition, and its Recruitonomics labour-economics publication make it the number the rest of the industry argues from.

## RecruitmentAds

RecruitmentAds.com makes recruitment ad creative and nothing else. Paste a live vacancy URL or the job text and it pulls the title, requirements, perks, logo, fonts and brand colours into a locked template, then returns a finished on-brand recruitment video with AI voice-over written from the job post, exported square, vertical, feed and landscape (9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 for Meta and LinkedIn Campaign Manager), with matching static ads in the same set so a video-versus-image test on one role counts as one ad set. Marketing decides per template which visual sources recruiters may use: AI-generated scenes built from the job description, real approved employee photos placed in on-brand layouts, or approved assets only with no AI-generated people. On-screen text and voice-over export in any language. It publishes nothing on your behalf, buys no media and has no native ATS integration: the exports go into your own Meta and LinkedIn accounts, with your pixel, your audiences and your budget. Plans, ad-set allowances and fixed 90-day pilot totals are published on the pricing page, so the whole thing can be costed and sampled on one live vacancy before a sales conversation.

## When Appcast wins, and when RecruitmentAds wins

Judge them on what lands in your hands. From Appcast it is distribution, optimisation and measurement of a media budget, plus creative if you scope an agency engagement for it. From RecruitmentAds it is the finished ad-set for one vacancy, exported in every standard format with matching statics, in your locked template. On evaluation friction they are not close: RecruitmentAds is priced on a public page and can be sampled on your own live role this week, while Appcast is quote-only by design.

### When Appcast wins

Your problem is media spend, not the ads themselves

If the question keeping you up is where this week's job-board budget should go, Appcast is built for exactly that and RecruitmentAds is not a candidate. Xcelerate and AppcastOne distribute jobs across thousands of job boards plus Google and Bing search, rebalance spend toward roles that need applicants, stop ads automatically when a role has enough, and report from impression to hire. RecruitmentAds buys no media, bids on nothing and reports no cost per applicant. If distribution is the gap, compare Appcast against the other programmatic platforms buyers put beside it, not against a creative tool.

You need measurement and benchmarks your finance team will accept

Appcast has ten years of Recruitment Marketing Benchmark Reports and Recruitonomics, its own labour-economics publication, behind the numbers your team argues about, plus source-level reporting from impression to hire inside the platform. No creative vendor can see that data, RecruitmentAds included: our reporting ends at the export, and what happens after it runs is visible in your ad accounts, not in ours.

You want one managed partner for EVP, career site and campaign creative

Appcast Brand & Creative carries Bayard's agency heritage back to 1923: discovery through engagement surveys, exit interviews and career-site analytics, EVP and messaging architecture, career sites, and Creative Studio producing video and digital ad creative through a Discover, Build, Activate process with monthly reviews and quarterly business reviews. If what you want is a partner to think with, and creative as one line in a managed programme, that is an agency purchase and RecruitmentAds is not one. We sell software you drive yourself.

Your hiring is US high-volume and job-board-led

Appcast's centre of gravity is US enterprise and frontline high-volume hiring in healthcare, logistics, hospitality, retail and gig work, with named customers such as Starbucks, Lyft, Avis Budget and Dick's Sporting Goods and 2,000+ combined clients after the Bayard acquisition. If your applicant flow comes from job boards rather than paid social, the creative gap RecruitmentAds fills may simply not be your bottleneck.

### When RecruitmentAds wins

Your unit of work is the vacancy, and you need the finished ad-set

Paste one live vacancy URL into RecruitmentAds and the set for that role comes back: an on-brand video with AI voice-over written from the job post, exported square, vertical, feed and landscape, with matching statics in the same ad set. Appcast has no per-vacancy creative product at all; jobs enter it as a feed to be distributed, and creative exists only inside a managed Creative Studio engagement scoped at EVP or campaign level. If you need a set for the role that opened this morning, that is a different mechanism entirely.

You want the visual source decided per template, and locked

RecruitmentAds makes the visual source an explicit setting marketing controls: AI-generated scenes from the job description, real approved employee photos in on-brand layouts, or approved assets only with no AI-generated people, inside a locked template with your fonts, colours and approved asset library. Appcast publishes no equivalent product control, because its creative is bespoke agency production: the visual approach is agreed inside the engagement rather than set once and enforced on every export.

You want your media and your creative to be separate purchases

With RecruitmentAds you keep your ad accounts, your budget, your pixel and your audiences, and you buy creative on its own. With Appcast, creative arrives attached to a managed relationship built around media spend, which is why a buyer who only wants finished ad creative for open vacancies cannot really buy just that. If you have deliberately unbundled media and creative, or your media is already handled (possibly by Appcast), the creative layer is what is left to buy.

You want to price it and see it before you meet anyone

RecruitmentAds publishes its plans, ad-set allowances and fixed 90-day pilot totals on its pricing page, and will build a sample ad-set from one of your live vacancy URLs before you commit. Appcast publishes no prices anywhere first-party: it quotes CPC and pay-per-applicant terms per account, and TrustRadius lists its two editions as "from $0 to $0", the standard quote-only tell (secondhand, 5 August 2026). That is normal for managed media. It also means the evaluation paths are not comparable in effort.

Who should pick what

Sole recruiter

A sole recruiter is not an Appcast buyer and Appcast does not pretend otherwise: it sells managed performance media to enterprise and high-volume employers on custom quotes, with no self-serve price anywhere. RecruitmentAds fits a single recruiter who already has somewhere to run ads and whose actual bottleneck is producing on-brand creative for each vacancy: paste the job link, take the exports, no design queue and no media commitment.

TA team

A TA team with feed volume and a real media budget should treat these as two separate line items rather than a shortlist. Appcast answers the distribution and spend question across job boards and search, and answers it at a scale RecruitmentAds cannot touch; RecruitmentAds answers where the creative for your own paid-social campaigns comes from, one vacancy at a time. Teams that run both are the normal outcome of this comparison, not the exception.

Employer-branding-led buyer

An employer-branding-led buyer gets genuinely different things from each. Appcast Brand & Creative brings Bayard's agency pedigree to EVP strategy, career sites and campaign creative, discovered through engagement surveys, exit interviews and career-site analytics, which is work software does not do. RecruitmentAds turns brand rules into product settings: a locked template, an approved asset library and a per-template choice of visual source, including approved assets only with no AI-generated people, for teams whose portrait-rights or AI policy has to hold on every export without a review cycle.

| What it is | Appcast (appcast.io) is the US programmatic job-advertising leader, founded in 2014 and majority-owned by StepStone Group since July 2019, which buys and optimises job-ad media across what it calls the world's largest job ad exchange. | RecruitmentAds.com is recruitment creative software: one live vacancy URL goes in, and an on-brand recruitment video plus matching static ads for Meta and LinkedIn come out. |
| What you are actually buying | With Appcast you buy optimised media spend and the measurement around it; creative exists only inside a separate managed engagement with its Bayard-heritage Brand & Creative arm, not as a product you can buy on its own. | With RecruitmentAds you buy finished creative per vacancy: one ad set is one approved ad for one vacancy, exported in every format its template supports with matching statics included, and your media budget stays entirely your business. |
| How a vacancy gets in | Appcast ingests jobs through ATS auto job import into Xcelerate and AppcastOne, which is feed-first by design: the platform expects a stream of openings, not a single role. | RecruitmentAds starts from one live vacancy URL or pasted job text, which is why a single role can be run through it with no feed, no integration and no implementation project. |
| Video output | Appcast produces video only as a managed agency deliverable: its Creative Studio page lists video content among branded talent-attraction assets, produced through a Discover, Build, Activate process with monthly reviews and quarterly business reviews, so it is scoped work rather than software output and not per vacancy. | RecruitmentAds generates a recruitment video per vacancy in software, with script and AI voice-over written from the job post, exported square, vertical, feed and landscape from one locked template. |
| Static ads | Appcast has no static-ad generation product; static creative exists only as bespoke deliverables from its Brand & Creative arm, such as digital ad creative for search, display and Performance Max, social copy and EVP-aligned job templates. | RecruitmentAds includes matching statics in the same finished set as the video, so a video-versus-image test on one vacancy counts as one ad set and needs no second brief. |
| Ad-set output you take away | Appcast's output is distribution and optimisation rather than a portable ad-set: a buyer who simply wants finished ad creative for open vacancies cannot buy that from Appcast without an agency engagement attached to media. | RecruitmentAds returns one vacancy as one finished set of files, every standard video format plus matching statics, which you upload to your own Meta and LinkedIn campaigns. |
| Visual-source choice | Appcast offers no visual-source choice as a product setting, because its creative is bespoke agency production: what appears on screen is agreed inside the engagement, not selected per template by the customer. | RecruitmentAds makes the visual source an explicit per-template choice: AI-generated scenes from the job description, real employee photos placed in on-brand layouts, or approved assets only with no AI-generated people. |
| Brand governance | Appcast delivers brand consistency as a service, through EVP-aligned messaging architecture and creative direction under Appcast Brand & Creative, rather than as controls inside software. | RecruitmentAds puts governance in the template: marketing locks fonts, colours, layouts and the approved asset library and sets which visual modes recruiters may use, then recruiters self-serve inside those limits. It does not ship full role-based access control or approval workflows. |
| Media buying and distribution | Programmatic distribution is Appcast's core product: thousands of job boards including Indeed, ZipRecruiter and LinkedIn, programmatic search ads on Google and Bing launched in April 2025, display Brand Ads, Xtend email and SMS re-engagement, auto-stop rules, and global reach through the StepStone and The Network job-board alliance. AppcastOne is described on its own page as spanning job boards, search, social, display and traditional channels, so paid social is a channel Appcast measures and can buy in, not one it leaves alone. | RecruitmentAds does none of this: it buys no media, posts to no job board and manages no campaigns, so if distribution is the problem you are solving, Appcast or another programmatic platform is your answer and we are not. |
| Measurement and reporting | Appcast reports from impression to hire with source-level reporting and cost-per-applicant and apply-rate metrics inside AppcastOne, which is the visibility a media platform has and a creative vendor structurally does not. | RecruitmentAds reports nothing about campaign performance, because the ads run in your accounts: results appear in your Meta and LinkedIn reporting alongside everything else you run. |
| Market data and benchmarks | Appcast publishes the category's reference data: its Recruitment Marketing Benchmark Report reached its tenth edition in 2026 with candidate-disposition and global hiring data, and Recruitonomics gives it a standing labour-economics newsroom with its own staff economist. | RecruitmentAds publishes no market benchmark data and does not claim to; on cost-per-applicant questions, Appcast's published benchmarks are a better source than anything we produce. |
| ATS integration | Not published: ATS auto job import is core to Appcast's Xcelerate and AppcastOne, but no public integrations list exists, and appcast.io/integrations/ returned a 404 when checked on 5 August 2026, so names and counts are unknown from outside. | Not shipped: RecruitmentAds has no native ATS integration and does not claim one. It reads the vacancy URL your ATS already publishes, which is why nothing has to be integrated before the first export. |
| Languages and markets | Appcast's core market is the US, with Canada, ten major international markets claimed after the Bayard acquisition and European reach through StepStone; it publishes no supported-language list, claiming global hiring support with local market expertise instead. | RecruitmentAds exports on-screen text and AI voice-over in any language you choose at export from the same locked template, and prices in EUR, GBP or USD by region; a second language counts as another ad set. |
| Pricing | Not published: Appcast prices as performance media, on cost-per-click and the pay-per-applicant model it markets as its signature, quoted per account, with no first-party figures anywhere as of 5 August 2026; TrustRadius lists its two editions as "from $0 to $0", which is how directories record quote-only (secondhand). | Published: RecruitmentAds lists Starter at EUR 299, Custom at EUR 499 and Scale at EUR 833 a month on annual terms, carrying 72, 144 and 300 ad sets per contract year, with fixed 90-day pilots at EUR 399, EUR 699 and EUR 999 including 15, 30 and 60 ad sets, and an annual agency plan at EUR 999 a month for 300 ad sets a year across client workspaces (EUR shown; GBP and USD by region, 16 August 2026). |
| How you evaluate it | Appcast's evaluation path starts with a conversation: there is no published price, no self-serve tier and no trial named on its site, which is standard for managed performance media where the commercial unit is your media budget. | RecruitmentAds can be evaluated before a conversation: read the published plans, send one live vacancy URL and get a sample ad-set built from it, then run a fixed 90-day pilot on real roles before committing to a year. |
| Company and scale | Appcast claims 450+ staff globally in its own copy, reports 2,000+ customers after acquiring the 1923-founded agency Bayard in July 2023, and sits inside StepStone Group, which its copy describes as the third largest jobs business in the world. | RecruitmentAds publishes no headcount and is materially smaller than Appcast; the honest trade is their scale, media reach and data authority against our published pricing and per-vacancy creative output. |
| Reviews | Appcast is listed on G2 at 4.3 out of 5 from 130 reviews, where praise centres on it being a responsive and organised agency, so the service relationship rather than a software interface is largely what is being rated (secondhand, 5 August 2026). | RecruitmentAds quotes no third-party review score on this page, because it has no comparable review volume to quote; it asks to be judged on output instead, which is what the sample and the 90-day pilot are for. |
| Best for | Appcast is best for US enterprise and high-volume employers running job-board and search media at scale who want distribution, budget optimisation and measurement handled end to end. | RecruitmentAds is best for in-house TA and employer-brand teams, staffing firms and agency or RPO partners whose media is already handled and who need an on-brand video and static set per vacancy without a production cycle. |

## What most Appcast comparisons miss

Almost every "Appcast alternatives" list answers a question about media buying and then quietly mixes in things that are not media buying. The lists we sampled on 5 August 2026 put ZipRecruiter, Indeed and Workable, a job board, a job board and an ATS, alongside programmatic platforms such as Joveo, Recruitics, PandoLogic and Talroo. That is how a buyer ends up comparing a spend-optimisation engine with a place to post a job, and it is why nobody in those results ever asks the question that decides the shortlist: are you replacing the distribution, or the creative that gets distributed? Those are two purchases. Appcast is genuinely excellent at the first one. It sells the second only as a managed agency engagement, and RecruitmentAds sells only the second, as software.

## Switching from Appcast, and why that is usually the wrong question

### What changes

- Nothing changes about your distribution, unless you choose to change it. RecruitmentAds sits beside a media platform rather than replacing one, so Appcast can keep running your job-board and search spend exactly as it does now.
- The creative stops being a scoped engagement and becomes a self-serve export. Instead of a Discover, Build, Activate cycle with monthly reviews, a recruiter pastes a vacancy URL and takes the finished set for that role.
- The unit of purchase changes. Appcast's unit is a click or an applicant against a media budget; a RecruitmentAds ad set is one finished ad-set for one vacancy, so your forecast becomes the number of roles you plan to advertise.
- Paid social becomes something you can fill on demand. The exports are sized for Meta and LinkedIn placements and you run them in your own accounts, with your pixel and your audiences.
- If you do leave Appcast entirely, distribution, optimisation and impression-to-hire reporting leave with it. RecruitmentAds replaces none of that, and you would need another programmatic platform or an in-house media capability to cover it.

### What maps to what

- Your EVP and messaging architecture from an Appcast Brand & Creative engagement maps to the copy and template rules inside RecruitmentAds, so brand work you have already paid for is the input rather than something to redo.
- Approved brand assets and photography from that engagement map to your RecruitmentAds asset library, including the approved-assets-only mode for teams that cannot run AI-generated people.
- Campaign-level creative concepts map to per-vacancy variants: the same approved concept can lead on salary, requirements or culture from the same job post.
- The jobs Appcast already ingests from your ATS feed are the same openings whose live vacancy pages you paste into RecruitmentAds, so the role list you already maintain is the input on both sides, in different forms.
- Nothing maps on media buying, bidding, budget rules or source reporting, because RecruitmentAds has no counterpart to any of them.

### What you keep

- Your Appcast contract and your media programme, if you keep them. The two tools address different jobs and can run side by side with no integration work between them.
- Your ad accounts, pixel, audiences and campaign history, because RecruitmentAds hands you files and never touches your accounts.
- Your ATS and career site. RecruitmentAds points ads at your existing vacancy pages instead of replacing them, and has no ATS to migrate to or from.
- Your employee-photo consent process. The employee-photo mode uses your approved photography inside the process you already run, rather than replacing it.
- Everything Appcast's creative arm has already produced. Those assets are yours and there is no library to port.

## What review sites report about Appcast

All review data here is third-party and was read via search on 5 August 2026, not fetched from the review sites themselves. RecruitmentAds does not quote its own ratings on this page.

G2 · reported 2026-08-05

4.3 out of 5 from 130 reviews. Praise centres on responsiveness and organisation, with reviewers describing Appcast as an agency that takes feedback well, alongside a solid platform and strong campaign reporting.

Capterra · reported 2026-08-05

A listing exists for Appcast; the rating and review count were not captured, so no figure is quoted here.

TrustRadius · reported 2026-08-05

Lists two pricing editions "from $0 to $0", which is how directories record a vendor that quotes rather than publishes.

## Evaluate RecruitmentAds on your own vacancy

A comparison table cannot tell you whether the creative is good enough for your brand, so do not decide from one. Take a live role, ideally one Appcast is already distributing for you, and send us the job link. We build the ad-set from that vacancy: video in square, vertical, feed and landscape, matching statics, your fonts and colours, AI voice-over in the language you hire in, and the visual source you choose (AI-generated scenes, real employee photos, or approved assets only). That set is the unit you would be buying, one ad set per vacancy with formats and statics included, and the plans, ad-set allowances and fixed 90-day pilot totals are published, so you can cost it against the roles you already have open without booking anything first.

## Questions buyers actually ask

What is Appcast, exactly, and is it software or an agency?

Both, in two separable parts. The software is programmatic job advertising: jobs arrive through ATS auto job import, and Xcelerate and AppcastOne distribute and rebalance spend across thousands of job boards plus Google and Bing search ads, display and email or SMS re-engagement, reporting from impression to hire. The agency is Appcast Brand & Creative, added when Appcast acquired the 1923-founded New York agency Bayard in July 2023, which sells EVP strategy, career sites and campaign creative as managed engagements. Appcast was founded in 2014 in Lebanon, New Hampshire, has been majority-owned by StepStone Group since July 2019, and claims 450+ staff in its own copy (read 5 August 2026); the 2,000+ combined customer count comes from the July 2023 Bayard acquisition announcement rather than from appcast.io.

Is RecruitmentAds an alternative to Appcast?

Only for one half of what Appcast does, and we would rather say so than sell you the wrong thing. If you want jobs distributed and media spend optimised, RecruitmentAds is not an alternative to Appcast in any sense: we buy no media, post to no job board and report no cost per applicant, and the vendors buyers genuinely put beside Appcast for that job are other programmatic platforms such as Joveo, Recruitics, PandoLogic, Talroo and, in Europe, Adway. If what you want is the creative that runs in those placements, per vacancy, on brand, then yes: that is the layer RecruitmentAds fills, and Appcast only sells it as a managed agency engagement.

Does Appcast make the ad creative?

Through its agency arm, yes; as software, no. Appcast Brand & Creative and its Creative Studio produce video content and digital ad creative for search, display and Performance Max, plus social copy and EVP-aligned job templates, through a Discover, Build, Activate process with monthly reviews and quarterly business reviews. That is bespoke work scoped at EVP or campaign level, not generated per vacancy, and there is no self-serve creative product in the platform. RecruitmentAds is the opposite shape: one vacancy URL in, one finished ad-set out, in every standard video format with matching statics, with the visual source set per template by marketing.

How much does Appcast cost, and how does that compare?

Appcast is quote-only. It prices as performance media on cost-per-click and pay-per-applicant terms against managed spend, and publishes no first-party figures anywhere; TrustRadius lists its two editions as "from $0 to $0", which is the directory convention for quote-only (secondhand, 5 August 2026). Its annual Benchmark Report does publish market-level CPC and CPA data, but those are benchmarks for what media costs, not Appcast's fees. RecruitmentAds publishes its own numbers: Starter at EUR 299, Custom at EUR 499 and Scale at EUR 833 a month on annual terms, carrying 72, 144 and 300 ad sets a contract year, with fixed 90-day pilots at EUR 399, EUR 699 and EUR 999 including 15, 30 and 60 ad sets, in EUR, GBP or USD by region (16 August 2026). The two models do not compare directly, which is one more reason to treat media and creative as separate purchases.

Which ATS systems does Appcast integrate with?

Unknown from outside. ATS auto job import is core to Xcelerate and AppcastOne, so integrations plainly exist and the platform is built around a job feed, but Appcast publishes no integrations list: appcast.io/integrations/ returned a 404 when we checked on 5 August 2026, so names and counts are not verifiable from its own site. Ask for the list in writing and confirm your ATS is on it. RecruitmentAds has no native ATS integration at all and does not claim one: it reads the vacancy URL your ATS already publishes.

We already use Appcast. Would RecruitmentAds replace it?

No, and in most cases you should not want it to. Appcast handles distribution, budget optimisation and measurement, none of which RecruitmentAds does or intends to do. What RecruitmentAds replaces is the part where somebody has to make the ads: one vacancy URL in, an on-brand video and matching statics out, in a template marketing has locked, with the visual source restricted to what your policy allows. Because RecruitmentAds exports files rather than publishing them, running both costs no integration work and creates no overlap. The question to settle internally is who owns which output, not which vendor survives.

## How we compared these two tools, and what to know when you evaluate them

Every Appcast capability, company and commercial fact here was read from appcast.io or from a named primary source on 5 August 2026 and is dated where it can move. We do not have an Appcast account, we have not run media through Xcelerate or AppcastOne, and we have not seen a Creative Studio deliverable, so nothing on this page is a test result or a judgement of quality: it is a statement of what each product is, drawn from what each vendor publishes. Two warnings you should carry into any shortlist. First, review data on Appcast is secondhand, read via search rather than fetched, and its G2 reviewers are largely rating an agency relationship rather than a software interface, which is a different thing from what you get when you buy software. Second, Appcast publishes no prices, so any cost comparison starts with a call, and the market-level CPC and CPA figures in its Benchmark Report are benchmarks for media, not a quote for its own fees. And the disclosure that matters: we sell RecruitmentAds.com, so treat our column as advocacy and check it the way you would check theirs. The rows where we do not compete say so plainly.

- Decide which purchase you are making before you compare anything. Distribution and creative are separable, and this pair is the clearest case of it in the category: one of these vendors will spend your media budget for you, the other will not touch it.
- If you want creative from Appcast, ask for it to be scoped and priced separately from media. Its Creative Studio process runs Discover, Build, Activate with monthly reviews and quarterly business reviews, so ask what the engagement costs standalone, what the per-role turnaround is, and what happens when you need a set for a role that opened this morning.
- Ask who owns the creative files at the end, and in which formats and aspect ratios you receive them. That question has a different answer for a managed agency deliverable than for software exports you download.
- Ask Appcast for its ATS integration list in writing. ATS auto job import is core to Xcelerate and AppcastOne, but there is no public list: appcast.io/integrations/ returned a 404 when checked on 5 August 2026, so names and counts are unknown from outside.
- Convert both models into your own unit before comparing. Appcast prices performance media on CPC and pay-per-applicant terms, so its number is per click or per applicant; a RecruitmentAds ad set is one finished ad-set for one vacancy, so its number is per role you advertise. Those never compare directly, which is a reason to buy them separately.
- Ask each vendor what happens to your paid-social placements. Appcast's centre of gravity is job boards and search; if Meta and LinkedIn creative is where your gap is, confirm who is making it and to what brand rules.
