# Storykit vs PlayPlay (2026): which recruitment ad tool is right for you?

Storykit here means storykit.io, the Stockholm text-to-video platform founded in 2018. Two unrelated products rank on the same query and are not compared here: StoryKit, an AI bedtime-stories app on Google Play, and Play Story Kit, a scrapbooking product from Ali Edwards.

Storykit and PlayPlay are the two enterprise video platforms a comms, marketing or HR team most often shortlists against each other: both turn source material into on-brand video and statics at volume, both name employer branding as a use case, and both are sold by quote. This page compares them on the two questions that decide the shortlist (what each one accepts as input, and what shape the output arrives in), then discloses where RecruitmentAds.com, a recruitment ad tool rather than a company-wide video platform, does and does not compete. One thing to settle before you start: as of 5 August 2026 neither Storykit nor PlayPlay publishes a price, so both routes to a number run through a meeting.

What each tool ships

## Storykit

Storykit is a Stockholm text-to-video platform, founded in 2018 and backed by a $10M growth round led by Expedition Growth Capital in December 2021. You give it written source material (an article, a newsletter, a press release, a job ad you paste), write a script in the app, or upload audio for it to transcribe, and it returns on-brand videos, social carousels, static images and text posts, then reformats a finished video for another channel in a click. Employer branding and recruitment is one of six named use cases and a real one: a dedicated use-case page, 11 named recruitment script templates, a recruitment blog cluster, and recruitment case studies with numbers Storykit reports itself, including Primetals Technologies at plus 60% completed applications and PostNord at 40 recruitment videos in one month.

## PlayPlay

PlayPlay is a Paris-based visual-creation platform for enterprise and mid-market teams, backed by $65.8M including a $55M Series B led by Insight Partners with Balderton Capital in February 2022, with around 205 staff and a New York office. You start from a template and assemble the piece in a storyboard editor, using your own footage, images, Getty premium stock, AI-generated visuals or an AI avatar presenter; a separate design suite produces static and animated visuals alongside the video. Employer branding is one of five named solutions with 120+ templates, per-URL templates including Job Offer and Video Job Offer, and a recruitment-video maker page whose second step is to upload your videos.

## RecruitmentAds.com

RecruitmentAds.com makes recruitment ad creative and nothing else. You give it a live vacancy URL or the job text; it pulls the title, requirements, perks, logo, fonts and brand colours into a locked template and returns an on-brand video in 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 with matching static ads and AI voice-over written from the job text, where one credit is one finished creative set for one vacancy. It is the narrowest of the three tools on this page: it has nothing to say about a video with no job behind it, it is not a company-wide content platform, and it does not compete with either Storykit or PlayPlay on marketing, comms or internal-communications output.

## Storykit vs PlayPlay vs RecruitmentAds, line by line

Every cell names the tool it describes, so no row can be misread out of context. Storykit and PlayPlay facts were read from their own sites on 5 August 2026 and are presented as each vendor's published claim, not as a tested result; review scores, headcount and funding are secondhand and labelled. The RecruitmentAds column describes shipped behaviour, including the rows where nothing ships and the rows where it does not compete at all.

| What it is | Storykit is a Swedish enterprise text-to-video platform that turns written source material into on-brand videos, carousels, static images and text posts for the whole company, with employer branding and recruitment as one of six named use cases. | PlayPlay is a French enterprise video-and-visuals creation platform used by 3,000+ customer companies across comms, marketing, internal comms, social and HR, with employer branding as one of five named solutions. | RecruitmentAds.com is recruitment ad software that turns a live vacancy into an on-brand video set plus matching statics for Meta and LinkedIn; hiring is its only use case, so it is not an alternative to either platform for company-wide content. |
| What you start from | Storykit starts from text you supply (pasted or written in the app, job ads included) or from an audio file it transcribes; there is no URL ingestion of any kind, so even its own post arguing that job descriptions are a video content goldmine has you copy the text in. | PlayPlay starts from a template plus material you bring (your footage, images, screen or camera recordings, Getty stock, AI-generated visuals or an AI avatar), and it does accept a pasted URL, but its AI URL-to-video feature is described on its own feature page as optimized for text-rich pages such as blog posts, news articles and informational resources, with job postings and careers pages named nowhere on it as of 5 August 2026. | RecruitmentAds starts from the job: a live vacancy URL or pasted job text, from which it extracts the title, requirements, perks, logo, fonts and brand colours into your locked template, with no footage required to produce the first version. |
| Recruitment and job-ad path | Storykit's recruitment path is editorial: 11 named recruitment script templates inside a 99-template library, an employer-branding and recruitment use-case page, and reported customer results, but the vacancy still arrives as text a person pastes in. | PlayPlay's recruitment path is template-plus-footage: 120+ employer-branding templates including Job Offer, Video Job Offer and Job Offer Visual, and a recruitment-video maker page whose four steps are choose a template, upload your videos, personalize, then download and share. | RecruitmentAds generates the scenes, on-screen text and AI voice-over from the job post itself, and can return several variants of the same vacancy so you can test whether salary, requirements or culture pulls harder. |
| Video output | Storykit's core output is script-based on-brand video, with channel-variant reformatting in a click so one finished video becomes the other aspect ratios. | PlayPlay's primary output is on-brand video assembled in a storyboard editor, with automatic resizing to square, vertical and landscape summed up in its own line about one video, every format. | RecruitmentAds outputs on-brand recruitment video in 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 with AI voice-over generated from the job text, produced per vacancy rather than per content idea. |
| Static and image output | Storykit produces social carousels, static images and text posts alongside video, all from the same written source. | PlayPlay ships a full static and animated design suite alongside video (an AI Image Generator and AI Background Remover on its features page, plus image animation, translation, cloning and resizing in the PlayPlay Design set), which makes it the broader of the two on image work. | RecruitmentAds includes matching static ads in the same credit as the video, so image and video can be tested against each other on the same role; it is not a general design tool and produces nothing outside the recruitment ad set. |
| Visual sources | Storykit's visuals come from a 3.5M-item royalty-free image, film and music library plus your own uploaded, approved brand media, and no generative visual feature was observed on its site as of 5 August 2026. | PlayPlay offers the wider source menu (Getty premium stock, a company asset library, an AI Image Generator, AI avatar presenters and your own recordings), which is breadth of supply rather than a policy about which source a given campaign may use. | RecruitmentAds makes the visual source an explicit choice per template, and marketing decides which choices recruiters may use: AI-generated scenes built from the job description, real approved employee photos placed in on-brand layouts, or approved assets only with no AI-generated people. |
| Distribution, paid ad-sets and media buying | Storykit publishes to no channel itself: Storykit Feeds delivers finished videos to an inbox of your choice and its API embeds video creation inside other tools such as Slack, so what you get back is a content piece and its channel variants rather than a per-vacancy ad set. | PlayPlay publishes to no channel either, names no publishing or scheduling integration on its features page as of 5 August 2026, and lists organic destinations for employer-branding output (LinkedIn, Instagram, Glassdoor, job portals and your careers page) with no paid campaign structure anywhere on its site. | RecruitmentAds is not a publisher and does not buy media either, and media buying or placement is no part of the product compared here: you upload the MP4s and statics in your own Meta and LinkedIn accounts, exactly as with the other two. What differs is only the shape of the handover, because one vacancy comes back as one set sized for those placements rather than as a single content piece you still have to build a set around. |
| Brand governance | Storykit offers partial governance: brand colour, font and logo lockdown, per-brand and per-market themes applied in a click, built-in guardrails for different teams and markets, and approved own-brand asset libraries. | PlayPlay has the strongest governance story of the three: Advanced Branding auto-applies logos, colours, fonts and intros or outros, and the subscription tier adds a company asset library, approval workflows, team management and SSO. | RecruitmentAds locks the template, fonts, colours and approved asset library and lets marketing set which visual modes recruiters may use per template, but it does not ship full role-based access control or approval workflows; on that specific point PlayPlay is ahead. |
| Languages | Storykit moves between 10 major languages and adds automatic AI subtitles and transcription, with on-screen text localisation as a documented feature. | PlayPlay's AI Video Translator covers 40+ languages including simultaneous multi-language translation, alongside AI subtitles and voice-over, making it the strongest of the three on localisation. | RecruitmentAds supports all languages for on-screen text and AI voice-over, chosen at export, but it does not claim automatic subtitling or subtitle translation. If you rely on that, both other tools are further ahead. |

## Which one to choose

Choose Storykit if…

Your raw material is written content and your problem is volume. Storykit is built to take an article, a press release, a newsletter or a job ad and return a finished video plus its channel variants, and Storykit Feeds will do that on a schedule and deliver the results to an inbox. It suits a comms-led team building an always-on stream across multiple brands and markets, with 10-language localisation and automatic subtitles, and it is the better pick if you want a vendor whose Production line can produce the output for you rather than building the capability in-house.

Choose PlayPlay if…

You are buying one platform for every kind of corporate visual and you need governance to hold. PlayPlay is the stronger of the two on brand control (Advanced Branding plus a company asset library, approval workflows, team management and SSO), on image work, where it ships a full design suite alongside video, and on localisation, with 40+ language translation. It also has the deepest proof: 3,000+ customer companies, 312 G2 reviews and $65.8M in backing. If the question on the table is one platform for all our video and visuals, this is the answer.

Choose RecruitmentAds if…

Your unit of work is a vacancy, not a content calendar. Paste the job URL and the video formats plus matching statics for that role come back in one pass, in a locked template, with the visual source governed per template: AI-generated scenes from the job description, real approved employee photos, or approved assets only with no AI-generated people. It is also the only one of the three you can cost before a conversation, because plan prices, credit allowances and 90-day pilot totals are published, and the sample is built from your own live vacancy. Choose it for the ad layer on open roles, not as a replacement for a company-wide video platform.

Who should pick what

Sole recruiter

Neither platform is scoped for you: Storykit is sold per seat or per production volume to teams building an internal content capability, and third-party reviewers describe PlayPlay as inaccessible to smaller organisations (secondhand, 5 August 2026), though PlayPlay's 7-day free trial is open to anyone. So if you need one video and one static per vacancy without an editor session, RecruitmentAds is the fit.

TA team

If marketing or comms already owns Storykit or PlayPlay for company-wide content, the practical question is not which platform survives but who turns each vacancy into creative: both tools need a person to write or assemble the piece first, while RecruitmentAds gives recruiters per-vacancy output inside a template marketing has locked, with no review cycle per role.

Employer-branding-led buyer

This is the buyer both platforms are genuinely built for, and PlayPlay edges it on governance, image work and 40+ language translation while Storykit edges it on turning written material into always-on volume; RecruitmentAds covers only the ad layer for specific vacancies and is not an employer-brand content programme, so here it is an addition rather than a choice.

## What most Storykit vs PlayPlay comparisons miss

The question people bring to this comparison is usually which one costs less, and as of 5 August 2026 neither vendor's own site can answer it. Storykit's price plans were public on 4 August 2026 and gated by 5 August, leaving Platform priced on seats and Production priced on volume with Book a meeting as the only route; PlayPlay's pricing page shows a 7-day free trial and then a single paid Subscription line whose CTA is Talk to an expert, with no figures anywhere. Directory pages ranking on this query still circulate €149 per month for Storykit, a secondhand figure that could not be verified on the primary source and now predates the change. The practical consequence is that a Storykit-versus-PlayPlay decision cannot be costed from published information at all: you can start a PlayPlay trial today and still not know what either tool would cost you next year.

## Evaluate RecruitmentAds on your own vacancy

Comparison tables only take you so far, and on this pair they stop at the price row. Send one live vacancy URL and we build the set from it: video in every standard format, matching statics, in your brand template, with the visual mode you choose (AI-generated scenes from the job description, real approved employee photos, or approved assets only with no AI-generated people). Plan prices, credit allowances and 90-day pilot totals are published, so unlike the two platforms above, you can scope the whole decision before you book anything.

## Questions buyers actually ask

Storykit vs PlayPlay: which is better?

It depends on what you feed it. Storykit is better if your raw material is written (articles, press releases, newsletters, job ads) because that is the input it is built around, and Storykit Feeds will turn a content stream into finished video on a schedule. PlayPlay is better if you want one platform for all corporate visuals with governance that holds: Advanced Branding, a company asset library, approval workflows and SSO, a full static design suite alongside video, and 40+ language translation. PlayPlay also has far more third-party proof, with 3,000+ customer companies and 312 G2 reviews against Storykit's 68 (secondhand, 5 August 2026). Neither is a recruitment ad tool, which is a different question and the one the next answer covers.

Can either Storykit or PlayPlay make an ad from a job posting URL?

Not as a documented use. Storykit has no URL ingestion of any kind (input is text you paste or write, or an audio file it transcribes) so even its own post about job descriptions as a video source starts with you copying the text in. PlayPlay does accept a pasted URL, but its own feature page describes the AI URL-to-video feature as optimized for text-rich pages such as blog posts, news articles and informational resources, and lists blogs, news, guides, reports, corporate announcements and product pages as what it works with; job postings, vacancies and careers pages are not on that list as of 5 August 2026. Its separate recruitment-video maker takes the other route, with upload your videos as step two. RecruitmentAds reads the vacancy itself and pulls the title, requirements, perks, logo, fonts and brand colours out of the posting.

How much do Storykit and PlayPlay cost?

Neither publishes a number. Storykit shows Platform priced on seats and Production priced on volume, both ending in Book a meeting, after its public price plans were pulled between 4 and 5 August 2026; the €149 per month figure some directories still quote is secondhand and unverifiable on the primary source. PlayPlay shows a 7-day free trial with no credit card and watermarked output, then one paid Subscription line whose CTA is Talk to an expert, and third-party reviewers describe the cost as inaccessible to smaller organisations (secondhand). So PlayPlay is easy to try and impossible to price, and Storykit is now neither. RecruitmentAds publishes its Starter, Custom and Scale prices, credit allowances and 90-day pilot totals, which means the evaluation can be costed before any call.

Which of the two gives marketing more control over the brand?

PlayPlay, on the evidence. Advanced Branding auto-applies logos, colours, fonts and intros or outros, and its subscription tier adds a company asset library, approval workflows, team management and SSO. Storykit's governance is real but narrower: brand colour, font and logo lockdown, per-brand and per-market themes, guardrails for different teams and markets, and approved own-brand asset libraries. RecruitmentAds does not ship full role-based access control or approval workflows and will not claim otherwise; the control it adds is specific to hiring, because marketing sets per template which visual sources recruiters may use, choosing between AI-generated scenes, real approved employee photos, or approved assets only with no AI-generated people.

We already use Storykit or PlayPlay. Do we need anything else for hiring?

It depends on what you produce. If hiring content means employee spotlights, day-in-the-life films and culture pieces posted organically, either platform already covers it and a second tool would be waste. If every open role needs its own creative in every format, with variants to test in paid Meta and LinkedIn campaigns, the gap is real: both tools need a person to turn the vacancy into a piece of content first, and both hand back a file rather than the ad set for that role. All three tools export rather than publish and none buys media, so running RecruitmentAds alongside either one costs no integration work and no migration.

## How we compared these three tools

Every Storykit and PlayPlay capability, price and company fact on this page was read from their own sites on 5 August 2026 and is presented as each vendor's published claim rather than as a tested result; we hold no paid account with either. The load-bearing pages were fetched first-hand rather than trusted from a research file: Storykit's price-plans, product, API and text-to-video pages, and PlayPlay's pricing, URL-to-video, employer-branding, features and recruitment-video pages. Review scores, headcount, funding and PlayPlay's founding year are secondhand from third-party aggregators, captured via search snippets because direct fetches of G2 and Capterra were blocked, and every one is labelled where it appears. Two caveats worth carrying into your own evaluation: G2's own PlayPlay-versus-Storykit page, which ranked third on this query on 6 August 2026, summarises PlayPlay as scoring higher overall, while the star ratings on the two product pages run the other way at 4.8 for Storykit and 4.7 for PlayPlay, and the review bases differ by more than four times, so either number is a weak tiebreaker. Everything about RecruitmentAds comes from our own published product and pricing pages, and where we ship nothing or do not compete, the row says so.

- Ask both vendors for a written price before anything else. Neither publishes one, and the figures on directory sites could not be verified against either primary source on 5 August 2026: Storykit's own plans went behind a meeting between 4 and 5 August.
- Bring one real job posting to each demo and watch what the tool does with it. Storykit has no URL ingestion at all, and PlayPlay's URL-to-video feature is scoped to blog posts, news articles and informational resources, so ask specifically whether a vacancy page is supported rather than whether a URL is.
- Separate governance from breadth. PlayPlay's approval workflows, SSO and asset library are a real control layer; a wide source menu of Getty stock, AI images and avatars is supply, not a rule about which source a given campaign may use.
- Confirm what you need to publish with. All three tools export files and none buys media, so check that your channel plan (organic posts, paid Meta and LinkedIn, careers page) is served by the formats each one hands over.
