VideoMy films employees; Lumina turns a job URL into one hosted video. Neither ships a paid ad-set. Sourced, dated, with RecruitmentAds as a third column.

# VideoMyJob vs Lumina (2026): which recruitment ad tool is right for you?

Two naming traps on this pair. VideoMyJob is now VideoMy at videomy.co (the old domain 301-redirects, though its 192-post blog still runs at blog.videomyjob.com), and every directory page that ranks for the old name still describes the pre-rebrand product. Lumina here means lumina.co, the recruitment-video vendor owned by CareerArc, not Lumina Learning, the Lumina Foundation, the Chevrolet Lumina or Mediaocean's Lumina, all of which crowd out the recruitment vendor on its own brand token.

Both tools put video against a vacancy, and they get there in opposite ways: VideoMy (renamed from VideoMyJob) needs an employee to record something, while Lumina needs nothing but the job URL. Neither one hands you a paid ad-set for Meta or LinkedIn, and neither publishes a price. This page compares them row by row from their own sites, dated 6 August 2026, and discloses where RecruitmentAds.com (the third column) does and does not compete, including the parts you can evaluate upfront on your own vacancy.

What each tool ships

## VideoMy (formerly VideoMyJob)

VideoMy is an enterprise employee-generated-content platform out of Melbourne, founded in 2015 and rebranded from VideoMyJob. You send employees a one-tap filming request, they record on a phone or laptop with an AI script and teleprompter to lean on, and the platform auto-edits the footage into a branded story, then spins off blog posts, social posts, quote cards and thumbnails from it and collects everything in an embeddable Story Feed. It is a capture workflow: nothing is generated from job-posting data, and there is no vacancy input at all.

## Lumina

Lumina, founded in Portland in 2020 and owned by CareerArc since April 2024, does the opposite. You paste a live job-posting URL (or let it pull openings from a career page or ATS feed) and Lumina returns one branded video job posting of roughly 30 seconds, with the writing, editing, branding, rendering and uploading handled on its side, within hours. No filming, no employees on camera; each video lands in a hosted, searchable library with share, embed and download links.

## RecruitmentAds.com

RecruitmentAds.com starts where Lumina starts (a vacancy URL or pasted job text) and ends where neither of the other two ends: a finished ad-set. One job post produces MP4s in 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and landscape with AI voice-over, plus matching static variants, inside a locked brand template. Its distinguishing control is visual source: AI-generated scenes from the job description, real approved employee photos, or approved assets only with no AI people, chosen per template by whoever owns the brand. It does not buy media, does not host anything, and does not integrate natively with an ATS.

## VideoMy vs Lumina vs RecruitmentAds, row by row

Every cell names its tool so it survives being read on its own, and every claim is sourced and dated at the bottom of this page. Rows 2 to 6 are the ones that usually decide this shortlist before anybody compares features, and the pricing, languages and review rows are the ones you can check before a sales call, which for two of these three tools is where the checking stops. Where RecruitmentAds does not compete on a row, its cell says so.

| What it is | VideoMy (formerly VideoMyJob) is an enterprise employee-generated-content platform where employees record themselves and AI auto-edits and brands the footage. | Lumina turns a pasted job-posting URL into a hosted, roughly 30-second branded video job posting delivered within hours. | RecruitmentAds.com is recruitment ad creative production: it turns a vacancy URL into a finished paid-social ad-set of video and static formats inside a locked brand template. |
| What you start from | VideoMy has no vacancy ingestion: you start from raw employee video recorded on any device via one-tap filming request links, with an AI Script Writer and teleprompter assisting the recording; no job URL or job data goes in. | Lumina starts from a live job-posting URL you copy and paste, or from openings it pulls out of career pages and ATS feeds, plus a brand template configured once. | RecruitmentAds.com starts from a job URL or pasted job text and extracts the title, requirements, perks, logo, fonts and brand colours into your template. |
| Video output | VideoMy's core output is video, always sourced from employee-recorded footage, auto-edited and branded, never generated from job-posting data. | Lumina's core output is one branded video of roughly 30 seconds per vacancy, produced as a service with writing, editing, branding, rendering and uploading handled on Lumina's side within hours to 24 hours. | RecruitmentAds.com exports MP4s in 9:16 vertical, 4:5 feed, 1:1 square and landscape from one job post, with AI voice-over written from the vacancy text and multiple hook variants per role. |
| Static ad creative | VideoMy derives quote cards, social posts and thumbnails from each video, but not paid-social ad-set creative in Meta or LinkedIn formats. | Lumina produces no static ad creative at all: its output is video only. | RecruitmentAds.com includes matching static variants in the same credit as the video, so one vacancy can run a video-versus-image test. |
| Who appears on screen (visual sources) | VideoMy has one visual source: filmed employee footage. Its homepage states 'No AI personas - just real stories from real employees that build trust', so there is no generate-from-text mode. | Lumina also has one visual source, at the other end: template-driven auto-generation from the job-description text, with no employee-photo mode and no approved-assets-only mode observed on its site. | RecruitmentAds.com offers three visual sources per template (AI-generated scenes from the job description, real approved employee photos in on-brand layouts, or approved assets only with no AI people), and marketing can disable any of them template by template. |
| Employee time per asset | VideoMy needs an employee to record something for every asset, and its motion budgets for that: a 60-day activation pilot, an 8-week launch program covered by a setup fee, and roughly one hour a week of internal time in its Activator Program. | Lumina needs no employee time and no filming: the video is generated from the job description and produced on Lumina's side. | RecruitmentAds.com needs no filming either; the employee-photo mode reuses photography you already had approved, under your existing consent process, rather than a shoot per vacancy. |
| Where the assets go, and who buys the media | VideoMy publishes organically (careers sites, social channels, an embeddable Story Feed, internal comms and employee amplification), and creates no paid-social campaigns and buys no media. | Lumina hosts each video in a searchable library and issues share, embed and download links, including a 'Powered by Lumina' white-label embed for job boards; paid social is available only through Jobtip Boost, a separate advertising product offered under partner co-brand, not through the core product. | RecruitmentAds.com does not buy media and hosts nothing: it is export-only, producing files sized for Meta and LinkedIn Campaign Manager placements that you upload in the ad account you already run. Programmatic Meta delivery exists on the enterprise tier only, and there is no job-board embed product. |
| Brand governance | VideoMy applies your logo, colours, templates and styling automatically and adds permissions management, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and SAML SSO, with AWS hosting in Australia, the US and the EU: real governance, over a single visual source. | Lumina's brand control is a one-time Brand Template setup covering colours, tone and content blocks such as Benefits or Requirements: brand approximation configured at the start, not a locked-template or approval-workflow system. | RecruitmentAds.com locks the template, fonts, colours and permitted visual modes so recruiters self-serve inside marketing's guardrails; it does not ship role-based permissions or multi-step approval workflows, and pilots run as a shared workspace. |
| ATS integration | VideoMy names four ATS integrations: Workday, PageUp, Jobvite and SmartRecruiters, alongside LinkedIn, YouTube, Canva, Facebook and Vimeo. | Lumina shows ATS logos for Workday, iCIMS, Taleo and Breezy HR (plus Indeed, which is a job site rather than an ATS) with no public integration documentation, though it does pull openings from ATS feeds. | RecruitmentAds.com ships no native ATS or Workday integration as of August 2026 and its public API is roadmap only; vacancies arrive as a URL or pasted text, so any ATS with a public job page works without an integration. |
| Languages | VideoMy offers subtitle translation into more than 100 languages on employee-recorded video, per its product page. | Lumina makes no localisation or multi-language claim anywhere on its site as of 5 August 2026, so treat non-English output as unverified rather than absent. | RecruitmentAds.com generates on-screen text and AI voice-over in any language from the same job post and the same locked template. |
| Pricing model and published prices | VideoMy publishes no prices: its pricing page shows a managed Pilot tier and an Enterprise tier with unlimited employee-story videos on a 12-month commitment plus an account setup fee, all quote-only as of 5 August 2026, with a short product trial offered after a demo in most cases. | Lumina publishes no prices either (there is no live pricing page on lumina.co as of 5 August 2026), and the only figure in circulation is a secondhand $295 per video with 24-hour turnaround from an undated Mac's List writeup that may predate the CareerArc acquisition; the motion is per-video, with a paid trial. | RecruitmentAds.com publishes employer, staffing and agency or RPO plan prices and 90-day pilot terms on its pricing page, in EUR, GBP or USD by region, with one credit equal to one finished creative set of video formats plus static variants. |
| Company, ownership and size | VideoMy is independent: VideoMy Pty Ltd, founded 2015 in Melbourne by Tim Mundy and David Macciocca, with US$2.55M raised to a Series A in November 2021 per Crunchbase (one source, GetLatka, claims no outside funding; the conflict is unresolved). It is in the 11-50 employee band per LinkedIn via LeadIQ, secondhand. | Lumina was founded in Portland, Oregon in 2020 and has been owned by CareerArc Group LLC since 3 April 2024, terms undisclosed; CareerArc Group is a PeakEquity Partners portfolio company, and Lumina is in the 11-50 employee band per ZoomInfo, secondhand. | RecruitmentAds.com is independently owned and operates from Elst, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce 80091660); it does not publish headcount, so treat it the same way you treat the secondhand figures for the other two. |
| Third-party reviews | VideoMy has effectively no review footprint: G2 shows 2.5 out of 5 from a single 2018 review and Capterra 4.0 out of 5 from a single review, both filed under the old VideoMyJob name, and no VideoMy-branded profile was found (secondhand, checked 5 August 2026). | Lumina has no verifiable G2 or Capterra listing under its own name (the Capterra profiles named Lumina belong to unrelated products), so its review sentiment is unknown (secondhand check, 5 August 2026). | RecruitmentAds.com cites no G2 or Capterra rating on this page, and this page carries no aggregate rating for any of the three tools, because there is no review data solid enough to aggregate. |
| Best fit | VideoMy is best for enterprise TA, employer-brand, early-careers and internal-comms teams that want employees on camera at scale with the editing, branding and permissions handled; its logos include Deloitte, Westpac, Siemens and Compass Group, with Australia and New Zealand as the home market. | Lumina is best for US enterprise TA teams, staffing agencies, healthcare systems and job boards that want each vacancy videoized without filming; its logos include Amazon, FedEx, Honda and Stanford Healthcare, and its market is the United States. | RecruitmentAds.com is best for in-house TA teams, staffing firms and agency or RPO partners that need on-brand paid-social creative per vacancy (video and statics) without a design queue, and that want the visual source to be a policy decision rather than a fixed property of the tool. |

## When each tool is the right answer

Choose VideoMy if…

The asset you actually need is a person from your company saying something true on camera, and you need that at a scale one videographer cannot cover. VideoMy is purpose-built for it: filming request links, teleprompter and script support, permissions management, an embeddable Story Feed, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and SSO, a decade of enterprise logos, and a managed launch program to get the first hundred employees filmed. Accept the trade honestly: a 12-month commitment, a setup fee, roughly an hour of internal time a week, no vacancy input, and no paid ad-set at the end.

Choose Lumina if…

Every open requisition needs a video, nobody is going to get filmed, and you would rather a vendor produce it than run software. Lumina is the closest thing in this comparison to a per-vacancy service: paste the link, get a hosted branded video within hours, share or embed it anywhere, and use the white-label embed if you run a job board. Accept the trade: video only with no statics, one visual treatment, no published price, and a product whose roadmap moved onto the CareerArc platform after the April 2024 acquisition.

Choose RecruitmentAds.com if…

Your vacancy video is going into a paid campaign, so you need the whole ad-set (video in every placement format plus matching statics), and you need the visual source to be your call: AI scenes, real employee photos, or approved assets only with no AI people. It is also the only one of the three you can evaluate upfront: prices and 90-day pilot terms are published, and a sample gets built from your job link before you commit. Do not choose it to film employee stories, host a video library, or buy your media: it does none of those.

Who should pick what

Sole recruiter

A sole recruiter is outside both vendors' motion: VideoMy sells a 12-month enterprise commitment with a setup fee and an 8-week launch program, and Lumina quotes per video with no published price, so the practical choice is a tool you can price and start on your own, which of these three is the one with published plans and a fixed 90-day pilot.

TA team

For a TA team whose real problem is one asset per requisition and no realistic path to filming colleagues, Lumina is the better of the two on input match and turnaround; move to RecruitmentAds when those assets have to run as paid ad-sets with statics and format variants rather than as a link you share.

Employer-branding-led buyer

An employer-branding-led buyer should take VideoMy seriously and probably not Lumina: getting real colleagues on camera at volume is exactly what VideoMy is built for, and the question to bring to RecruitmentAds is narrower: whether the same approved faces and locked template need to come back out as paid creative per vacancy, which is the row where VideoMy stops.

## What most VideoMyJob vs Lumina comparisons get wrong

They treat the two as substitutes, when neither can do the other's job in any mode. VideoMy has no vacancy ingestion whatsoever (there is no job URL field, and its own homepage rules out generated presenters), so it cannot produce anything from a job posting. Lumina has no filming or employee-photo mode observed on its site, so it cannot put your people on screen. That makes the decision upstream of every feature row: you are choosing between an asset that requires employee time and one that requires none, and no negotiation moves either tool across that line. The second thing these comparisons miss is the end of the pipeline: neither tool outputs a paid ad-set. VideoMy distributes organically and buys no media; Lumina delivers share, embed and download links, with paid social sitting in Jobtip Boost, a separate partner-co-branded product whose terms were last updated 10 May 2024. Two facts of provenance are also routinely dropped: Lumina has not been independent since CareerArc acquired it on 3 April 2024, and VideoMyJob became VideoMy, so the Capterra, CBInsights, Cuspera and AMS Verified pages that rank for this pair are describing a product name that no longer exists, in one case beside a lecture-capture platform and in another beside an AI interviewer. All checks 5-6 August 2026.

## Evaluate RecruitmentAds on your own vacancy

The honest reason to put a third column on this page: with two quote-only vendors, the comparison you can actually finish before a sales call is short. So finish it on a real role. Send one live vacancy URL and we build the ad-set from it: video in vertical, feed, square and landscape, matching statics, your template, and whichever visual source your brand policy allows, including approved assets only with no AI people. Prices and 90-day pilot terms are on the pricing page, so you can price it against your own requisition volume in the same sitting. If what you actually need is employees on camera at scale, VideoMy is the better tool and we will say so.

## Questions buyers actually ask

VideoMyJob vs Lumina: which is better?

Neither is better in general, because they solve different halves of the problem. If the asset has to feature real colleagues, VideoMy is the only one of the two that can produce it, and it is built for that at enterprise scale. If every requisition needs a video and nobody will be filmed, Lumina is the only one of the two that can produce it, from the job URL alone, within hours. There is no overlap mode to split the difference: VideoMy has no vacancy input and Lumina has no filming input, as of 5 August 2026.

Which is cheaper, VideoMy or Lumina?

Nobody can answer that from public information: neither vendor publishes prices, and the pricing models are not comparable. VideoMy sells a managed Pilot and an Enterprise tier with unlimited employee-story videos on a 12-month commitment plus a setup fee. Lumina charges per video; the only figure in circulation is a secondhand $295 per video from an undated Mac's List writeup that may predate the April 2024 CareerArc acquisition. At low volume the per-video model usually wins and at high volume the unlimited model usually does, but you need both quotes against your own requisition count to know.

Is Lumina still an independent product?

No. CareerArc Group LLC acquired Lumina on 3 April 2024 with terms undisclosed, and CareerArc Group is a portfolio company of PeakEquity Partners; Lumina's founder Brian Forrester had already become CareerArc's CEO in July 2023. The stated plan was to deliver significant updates on the CareerArc platform. Lumina.co still sells, but the standalone signals are quiet as of 5 August 2026: about 20 URLs in the sitemap with several last modified in 2021 and 2022, a job-board subdomain that no longer resolves, and no live pricing page.

Did VideoMyJob shut down or change its name?

It changed its name. VideoMyJob is now VideoMy at videomy.co, and the old domain 301-redirects there, though the 192-post blog still runs at blog.videomyjob.com. The product changed with the name: it is positioned as an enterprise employee-generated-content platform rather than a video job ad tool. Search results have not caught up: the Capterra, G2, CBInsights and Google Play listings that rank for the old name still describe the pre-rebrand product, and the app is still listed as VideoMyJob.

Can either tool give me Meta and LinkedIn ad creative?

Not as an ad-set. VideoMy's derivative assets are quote cards, social posts and thumbnails for organic publishing, and it buys no media; Lumina outputs one video per vacancy with share, embed and download links, and routes paid social through Jobtip Boost, a separate partner product. If your vacancy video is going into a paid campaign, someone still has to cut it to placement formats and make the static variants. That is the gap RecruitmentAds.com fills from the same job URL, and it is also the one you can evaluate upfront, since its plan prices and pilot terms are published and a sample is built from your own job link.

## How we compared these two

Every VideoMy and Lumina claim on this page comes from the vendor's own live pages (product, pricing, solution and terms pages) read on 5 August 2026, with the page as a whole verified on 6 August 2026; each is listed with its URL and date in the sources below. Where only third parties carry a fact, it is labelled secondhand and attributed: company size for both vendors is a ZoomInfo or LeadIQ band, VideoMy's funding is Crunchbase with an unresolved conflict against GetLatka, and Lumina's $295-per-video figure is an undated Mac's List writeup that may predate the April 2024 CareerArc acquisition. Review data is secondhand in every case and thin enough that no aggregate rating is published here for any of the three tools, including ours. We did not run either product; capability rows describe what each vendor states it ships, not benchmark results, and the absence of a claim is written as unverified rather than as a missing feature. RecruitmentAds.com is our own product and is disclosed as the third column throughout, including on the four rows where it does not compete: media buying, video hosting, native ATS integration and employee filming.

- Ask both vendors for a written price against your actual volume. Neither publishes one, and the two models are not comparable: VideoMy sells unlimited videos on a 12-month commitment plus a setup fee, while Lumina prices per video, so the same annual budget buys wildly different things depending on how many requisitions you run.
- Ask what happens after the pilot ends. VideoMy's pilot is a managed 60-day activation with an Activator Program that assumes roughly an hour of your team's time per week; check who does that work in month four, and whether employee filming volume holds without the vendor's launch team on the account.
- Ask Lumina directly what the product roadmap is post-acquisition. CareerArc's stated plan was to deliver significant updates on the CareerArc platform, and the standalone signals are quiet: a sitemap of about 20 URLs with several last modified in 2021 and 2022, a job-board subdomain that no longer resolves, and no live pricing page.
- Check the last mile against your media plan. Neither tool outputs a Meta or LinkedIn ad-set, so if your vacancy video is going into paid, confirm who resizes and re-cuts it into placement formats, who makes the static variants for image-versus-video tests, and whether that work lands back on the design queue you were trying to remove.
