Film the workplace, not the office
Made with RecruitmentAds.com. Shown in the Instagram Reels placement.
Reception, drone shots over the car park and a logo animation tell a candidate nothing they could not have guessed. The place the work happens tells them whether they want to be in it. A workshop, a ward, a site, a kitchen, a cab: the footage qualifies the viewer before a word of copy has to.
What to look at
The workshop is doing the filtering here, and the copy only has to name the money, the town and the firm.
Employer branding on social media: the format each channel needs
Not one page ranking for employer branding states a single aspect ratio, pixel size or safe zone. That is why so much employer-brand work ends as a landscape film that cannot be run anywhere it would be seen. Here are the figures, each one from the platform's own documentation, with the date we read it.
A safe zone is the part of the frame the app's own interface covers: captions, buttons, progress bars, the profile row. Text outside it is text nobody reads. Three of the platforms below publish figures, two publish nothing at all and say so by omission, and one publishes two different numbers for the same placement.
To see any of these with your own file in place, the free ad mockup tool renders the real platform chrome around your creative with the documented safe zones drawn on top, in the browser, without uploading anything. Open the free ad mockup tool →
The channel strategy that sits behind these formats, which audiences each platform is worth buying and what to post organically between campaigns, is on our social media recruiting guide. Read the social media recruiting guide →
Facebook is the placement where the two published safe-zone readings actually bite, and the Facebook examples page shows what that looks like in finished ads. Facebook recruitment ad examples →
